Case Study 3

Delivering a Treasury Manager for a Digital Asset Finance Team in El Salvador

The Client

A leading international digital asset business with established operations across the UAE and the USA, launching a new office in San Salvador, El Salvador.

The challenge

Priority Crypto was appointed to support a major international client with a highly specific, office-based Treasury Manager role in San Salvador.

This was not a location we had previously recruited in, which immediately made the assignment more complex. The client was opening a new office in El Salvador and needed someone who could support the digital asset finance function locally, while also operating to the standard expected by a global business with offices across the UAE and the USA.

The role itself was extremely specific. The successful candidate needed to understand finance, treasury, payments, reconciliations, operational controls and digital asset environments. They also needed strong English language skills, the ability to work in an international business, and the confidence to join a fast-moving office at an early stage.

The local market presented several challenges.

San Salvador is the largest city and commercial centre of El Salvador, with the wider urban and metropolitan population commonly cited as between 1.6 million and 2 million people, depending on how the area is measured. While that gives access to a meaningful local talent pool, the number of candidates with relevant treasury, finance operations, digital asset exposure, fluent English, and immediate availability was extremely limited.

This was also an emerging market search, where salary levels, candidate expectations, international finance exposure and access to specialised digital asset talent differed significantly from the more established hiring markets we usually work across.

The brief was therefore highly targeted, location-constrained and time-sensitive.

This was a strategically important. The client was a major account with over 100 additional roles expected across the year, so Priority Crypto needed to deliver quickly, professionally and with complete confidence.

Our Approach

We approached the assignment as a market mapping exercise, identifying professionals with transferable experience across banking, fintech, treasury, payments and finance operations.

Candidates were assessed against technical capability, English fluency, cultural fit, motivation, location suitability and their ability to operate within a fast-paced international environment.

By broadening the search beyond traditional crypto profiles, we were able to uncover high-quality talent that aligned with both the technical and cultural requirements of the role.

THE OUTCOME

Priority Crypto delivered four qualified candidates within 72 hours of receiving the brief.

Three candidates progressed through to the final interview stage, with one candidate successfully accepting an offer within approximately 14 days of the search commencing.

The successful hire provided the client with an experienced treasury professional capable of supporting the finance function locally while collaborating effectively with international teams across the business.

VALUE delivered

This assignment demonstrated Priority Crypto's ability to deliver specialist talent in emerging and unfamiliar markets, even where candidate availability is limited and search criteria are highly specific.

Through detailed market mapping, targeted sourcing and rigorous screening, we successfully supported a strategic office launch and reinforced our ability to solve complex hiring challenges for global digital asset businesses.
